"A taxonomic revision of the genus Sparganium (Sparganiaceae) is presented with a key and full descriptions of each species including diagnoses, synonyms with typifications, distribution maps, variation and illustrations also containing information on fossils, anatomy, morphology, chromosomes, floral biology, dispersal, ecology, parasites, animal feeders, applied aspects and hybrids. Fourteen species and six subspecies are recognised. In part I, subgenus Xanthosparganium, seven species are presented. One new name is used: Sparganium emersum subsp. acaule (Beeby ex Macoun) C. D. K. Cook and M. S. Nicholls comb. nov. [basonym: S. simplex var. acaule]." |
