"Here, we provide a list of all the legitimate names and synonyms of the species and infraspecific taxa in Dombeya sect. Dombeya. This autonymic section includes 11 species, 2 subspecies and 6 varieties showing a unique trait within Dombeyoideae: a biparous cyme with scorpioid terminal units. These species were previously included in two sections: Dombeya sect. Capricornua Arènes and D. sect. Paracapricornua Arènes, though neither of these names followed nomenclatural rules. Four lectotypes (Dombeya cincinnata K. Schum, Dombeya leucorrhoea K. Schum. Dombeya metameropsis Hochr. var. kitombaensis Hochr. Dombeya urenoides Hochr.), and three second-step lectotypes (Dombeya borraginopsis Hochr. Dombeya rubifolia Baill. Dombeya greveana Hochr.) are designated here. This work constitutes the basis for a future integrative revision of section Dombeya." (source : auteurs) |
