Titre : The taxonomy, status and origin of Isoetes xbrochonii and I. creussensis (Isoetaceae), two Pyrenean endemic taxa Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Daniel F. Brunton, Auteur ; Paul C. Sokoloff, Auteur ; Pere Aymerich, Auteur Année de publication : 2020 Article en page(s) : pp. 391-408 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : [Espèces (in biblio)] Isoëtes brochonii Mots-clés : pteridophyte Résumé : "Isoetes brochonii has possibly been subject ta more taxonomie designations over the last century than any other European quillwort and l'J1ost commonly has been put into synonymy with the widespread I. lacustris. Investigations of herbarium and living material in the present study, however, indieate it to be a sterile (aborted spored) hybrid, I. xbrochonii (pro sp.), confined to high elevation lakes of the Pyrenees mountains in France, Spain and Andorra. This represents the first uniquely European Isoetes hybrid to be described. Putative parents are diploid I. echinospora and dodecaploid I. creussensis, probably a hybridogenic Pyrenean endemic. The speciation of I. creussensis may weil have occurred in Pyrenean refugia during Quaternary glacial-interglacial fluctuations. We found no convincing evidence for the occurrences of decaploid I. lacustris in the Pyrenees where it appears to have been confused with I. creussensis. A comparative table of the distinguishing morphologieal characteristies of I. creussensis and I. lacustris is provided, with megaspore ornamentation and microspore size indicated as being partieularly important indicators." [Thèmes] Liste rougeMots-clés : Bulbophyllum minutum Bulbophyllum nutans Résumé : "Here we describe Bulbophyllum mascarenense sp. nov., a new endemic species from the Mascarenes, and assess its conservation status. This taxon has previously been confused with B. nutans var. nutans and has also been erroneously identified in the Mascarenes as B. minutum auct. non Thouars, the latter a Malagasy endemic. Bulbophyllum mascarenense is known from tropical humid native vegetation between 400 and 1200 m elevation, being abundant on the island of Réunion, but less so on Mauritius. Using the Red List Categories and Criteria of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, this new species should be considered as “Least Concern”."
